Hiiii
I’m a DC-based actor and singer who dabbles in sketch comedy and stand-up. I’d be a fantastic candidate for the following roles:
-
Feral sidekick in family-friendly musical
-
Talking mule in children’s show
-
Exhausted young southern mom
-
Petty villain with a catchphrase
-
Mozart in Amadeus
Exciting News! I got a Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Supporting Performer for my role in The Honey Trap!
UPDATES
DESPERATE MEASURES
Constellation Theatre
I just finished up a Wild West musical adaptation of Measure for Measure as Susanna, a nun who tries to maintain her sacred vows while saving her brother from certain death. While flu season kept me from performing for critics at opening, they still thought the show was a hoot and a holler. Yee-haw!
MOUSE ON THE MOVE
Imagination Stage
I recently made my Imagination debut in an adorable Theatre for Very Young Audiences show about two mice headed to the moon. DC Theatre said, "Ballinger excels with her animated facial expressions and larger-than-life movements. She is a crowd-pleaser among kids and adults."
THE HONEY TRAP
Nominated for 10 Helen Hayes Awards!
Solas Nua
This was a big one. MD Theatre Guide and UnProfessional Opinion have both said it was one of the best shows of DC's season. DC Theatre Arts said, "Ballinger is spot-on as Emily, the well-intentioned researcher who has no clue how dark and complex her subject truly is." I was deeply humbled to have my role receive a Helen Hayes Nomination for Outstanding Supporting Performer.
